If West Sacramento ever has to evacuate, your zone decides what you're told to do and where you go. Look yours up now, while it's calm.
1. Find your zone
Yolo County's evacuation zone tool is now Genasys Protect. It replaced the older "Know Your Zone" tool.
The City of West Sacramento says each zone has its own evacuation routes and rally points.

2. Sign up for alerts
Get emergency notices for your address from the City of West Sacramento emergency preparedness page.
That same page shows current Sacramento River levels at the I Street Bridge.
3. Your family plan
1. Know your zone and write it down where everyone can see it.
2. Learn two ways out of your neighborhood and drive each one once, so you're not learning it in traffic.
3. Keep a disaster supplies kit ready and your medications together. Keep your gas tank full if an evacuation looks likely, because stations may be closed or without power.
4. Tell someone where you're going.
Flood season outlook
NOAA's Climate Prediction Center is forecasting a strong El Niño this winter. Strong El Niño winters tend to bring wetter, stormier weather to California, but every winter plays out differently. Check their latest outlook.
